Jakarta Govt and Lemhannas RI Strengthen National Resilience

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas RI) Tubagus Ace Hasan Syadzily signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Enhancement and Development of National Resilience at Balairung Hall, Jakarta City Hall, on Wednesday (1/28).

"As the capital city, issues related to national awareness are extremely important for Jakarta,"

The cooperation covers leadership education, the strengthening of national values, as well as strategic studies on Jakarta's national resilience index. Pramono expressed hope that the agreement would bring tangible benefits to Jakarta.

"I welcome the signing of this agreement, and it is certainly very meaningful for the Jakarta Provincial Government. As the capital city, issues related to national awareness are extremely important for Jakarta," he shared.

In his remarks, Pramono emphasized the importance of national insight for Jakarta's leadership. He cited five criteria for ideal leadership as formulated by Lemhannas, which he applies in governing the city: being a statesman, having a global outlook, being solution-oriented and strategic, prioritizing national interests, and being collaborative.

"A statesman is the key trait of a leader who, in any line of thinking, no longer focuses on personal issues but looks at a broader context," he said.

He also stressed that national resilience begins with how leaders embrace all stakeholders for the public good, including in addressing flood issues and matters related to the Betawi community.

"A leader is needed to solve problems. Leaders should not become the problem," he added.

Pramono also said he would continue policies initiated by previous governors that remain unresolved, including the dismantling of abandoned monorail pillars, transportation issues at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), and the Sumber Waras Hospital case.

Meanwhile, Lemhannas RI Governor Tubagus Ace Hasan Syadzily welcomed the renewal of the cooperation.

He noted that the Jakarta Provincial Government has consistently sent participants, particularly government officials, to take part in various education programs at Lemhannas.

"We have also agreed to enhance the quality of programs to strengthen national values, which is one of Lemhannas' main duties in disseminating national values," Ace highlighted.

The MoU will be followed up with strategic programs in line with the duties and functions of each institution to support national resilience, particularly in Jakarta.

"We are also conducting national resilience measurements that can detect potential threats, as well as obstacles, challenges, and opportunities that can be used as efforts to strengthen our national resilience," he shared.
